100 Flowers in Australia

YEEEEEEE HAW!!! I adopted my 100th follower!!!  How cool is THAT? Somebody else jumped in the duct tape roll!!!  And - she's a fellow Texan ya'll!!! Welcome Diane!!! (Do you think she's a red.neck?  Hmmmmm...)

If she is - I've got the perfect thing for her to keep her red.neck warm - and it is CHILLY here in this neck o' the woods!!!  Yep, you guessed it - a scarf sportin' my latest obsession...

 a burnnnnnt up flower!!!

So - Diane!  I need your mailing address please!!!  I know it's cold... but I'll make the postman run just for you!!!  Ya'll be sure and wander over to welcome her - she's got a gorgeous blog and she's making a journal - Diane, when is that going in your Etsy store?  LOL

And now for the rest of the story...

I have a bag headin' out to Australia this afternoon!!!  This is my second one to make the journey to the "Outback" - I love it so much when my duct tape goes over-seas, over land, over pavement and gravel and dessert... heck, I love it when I get to send one ANYWHERE - Thank You Penelope!!!
Anyway, my packaging. Last night I updated my packaging just a little bit!  I always tie a piece of black velvet ribbon on my package (It's SUPPOSED to represent the "chic" in "red.neck Chic" *shrug*) but, uhmmmm..... I've stolen all the black velvet ribbon I can find off of dresses, bags, vintage rolls, perfect strangers - anything and everything!  So, in the true spirit of flamage, recycling and melting things...

I cut up a velvet skirt (sorry Mom, I think it was yours...), a black taffeta vest back and a black chiffon party dress - VOILA (after adding a pearl from a vintage necklace)!  I think I might have an "upgrade" to the good ol' duct tape!!!  Whatcha' think? It has a brooch back on it so it's not only decorative - but a lil' "sumthin'" special for my customer! Would you grin if you received one?

I told you... nothing is safe - nothing.  I'm out to not only duct tape the world but apparently sprinkle petals as well... I wonder what Big Fat Fatty the cat would say to a floral collar...

Flowers for You!

I am holding Karyn responsible for my obsession with melting things... organza, silk, taffeta - interesting looking fabrics... I'm melting it all.  LOL (Yes, I have permission from the Fire Department, a fire extinguisher in my labooooooooratory and a glass of water for dropping flaming flowers in - thank you for your concern. Why am I melting these things you ask?  Well... Karyn made the mistake of introducing me to Organza flowers...

Necklaces

Handbags

Throw Pillows

Brooches for future handbags (or my coat lapel - whichever comes first!)

They are perfect on anything and EVERYTHING!!!  I know this for a fact... I have added them to everything that comes within 20' of me.  LOL  Even my slippers.

See?  Who says your feet can't stay warm and toasty while looking WAY cute? And I'm providing mobile toys for the fattest cat that ever lived.  I'm multi-tasking.  For Christmas I made a few scarves for family and friends and these flowers made the perfect "accessory"!!!

As if I would show you a scarf I made... I am sew NOT a chrochet-ist.  Luckily for me the flower took away from many messed up interesting stitches.  I have since dropped the crochet hook... it just doesn't have the power behind it that my machinery does.  LOL

Wanna know how to make 'em? Well, I'm not a good teacher, but I will show you where I found directions!!!

I loosely followed Kim's directions - she appealed to me for several reasons:
a.  "calamity" is in her name (and could possibly be my middle name!)
b. she is a self professed pyromaniac (SEW me!)
c. she gives safety tips... such as:
"Please be advised that this is stinky and should be done in a well ventilated area.  It also can be dangerous and should be supervised by adults or firemen due to sudden bursts of flaming tulle melting the skin from your hands or singeing the drapes!  I am not liable or responsible for any damages to you or your home or trailer park! Please create these flowers at your own risk!"
ANYBODY that knows me this well needs to be somebody I follow around.  LOL

Sew - go forth and burn some fabric - I have faith in you (and your local fire department)!!!  Whatcha' gonna make?

White Chocolate Mocha

Diet/Schmiet... I'm craving a White Chocolate Mocha (super extra-large grande, please!!!) Latte! Obviously dieting was NOT in my resolution vocabulary. HA!  And Starbucks - yep, they are the kings and queens of all things "latte", but holding on to my pennies WAS one of my goals for this year... so I'm going to try this:
    Ingredients
  • Milk
  • 15ml White Chocolate Syrup (or white chocolate drinking powder)
  • Espresso
  • Whipped Cream
  • Chocolate Shavings
  1. Steam the milk and set it aside
  2. Add syrup to a tall heat proof glass, prepare the espresso as normal and add to the glass. Mix until the chocolate has dissolved
  3. If using white chocolate drinking powder mix this with the hot milk before adding to the coffee
  4. Fill the glass with steamed milk until full and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings
There's a healthier alternative to the whipped cream... but I'm not a big health food addict when something has "Chocolate" in the title.  LOL

Problem is... how do you steam milk?  And... does espresso come in the microwave section?  Hmmmm...
So... who's making this and how do I get to your coffee cup?

Inquiring Minds Want to Know...

Lee wanted to know a little about me and what I do...

I own and operate a crack house.  Yep.  Not ONLY crack, but chips and craziness as well.  I believe in running a well-balanced (and slightly disorderly) household.

Bring me your tired, your weary... your cracked, your chipped - and your slightly crazied.  I will welcome them into the fold.

Can you imagine how much someone loved this coffee pot? All of these pieces... the original owners couldn't just throw them away! They just painstakingly pieced and glued it all back together again...

Like Humpty Dumpty.

And someone loved this tureen enough to not throw it away after it lost a handle... and I loved it enough to put it in my Mother's Christmas stocking... now it's up to her to figure out what to do with it.  ha HA!  What?  Santy Claus couldn't just leave it sitting at the antique store!  Whomever was selling it couldn't just throw it away either!

In my defense, I do find a use for every piece of chipped up craziness - utensil holder on the stove, toothbrush holder, greenery (the silk kind - my thumb is not green... sometimes I can even kill off the silk  *shrug*), though the coffee pot just sits on top of my new toaster oven lookin' pretty while on crack.  It's fire proof (toaster ovens like to explode...)  LOLOL Purrrrhaps one of my New Year's resolutions should be walkin' away from the glued together china pieces?
Nah.

Please tell me I'm not the only one that serves dinner (catered of course - solely for my guests safety.) on slightly crazy pieces... with chips on the side! Do you ever pick up something in "less than perfect" condition because it looks so lonely?

Or am I just crazy, chipped and on crack?  I know where I can live... I fit in perfectly.
