Whip It!

Cool whip containers... every red.neck has gotta have 'em!!!  Well, you know why... right?

You might be a red.neck... If you have a complete set of salad bowls and they all say Cool Whip on the side. (At your Thanksgiving dinner... or Easter - either way!) Cool whip containers are like duct tape... you don't leave home without one.

Uh huh.

At Thanksgiving Mrs. Misty and I went back and forth a few times (laughing hysterically with each comment!) about how left-overs go home in cool whip containers and how there ain't no dinner party complete without cool whip containers...

Well - lookey at what I got (are you hearing the heavenly choir?) - 'cause Misty cares enough to send the verrrrrrrrrrrry best!!!

So....if you have some cool whip - and you need the container for your next dinner party - you could make THIS:

Weight Watchers Strawberry Trifle recipe
Makes 6 servings

Ingredients
1 angel food cake
2 pints fresh strawberries
1 large navel orange
6 tablespoons Splenda sugar substitute
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
fat-free cool whip

Preparation
1. Wash, stem, and slice strawberries (use an egg slicer to get even slices).
2. Place strawberries in medium bowl.
3. Using a reamer, juice orange into the bowl of strawberries.
4. Stir, adding Splenda, extract, vanilla, and cinnamon.
5. Stir berries in this juice very well and set aside to allow berries to macerate while you assemble the trifle.
6. Tear half of angel food cake into bite-size bits and place in bottom of trifle bowl.
7. Add half of strawberries followed by the other half of the angel food cake torn into bite size bits.
8. Place remaining strawberries on top of cake.
9. Pour juice over the layers.
10. Top with Cool Whip.
11. Chill until ready to serve.
Suggestions: You can garnish the top of the cool whip by saving two or three of the strawberries and making a fan. To do this, place a strawberry stem side down in your egg slicer, slowly lower the top and slice into the strawberry just to the point that it is about to cut through. Pull the strawberry out and spread the slices.
recipe found here.

The perfect recipe if you can't cook (like me), perfect if you are on a diet - perfect if you are diabetic!!!  And oh - you HAVE to do something with that cool whip... so that you can send your tub to Misty and have her work her magic!!!  How CREATIVE is she?!!?

I love it - Thank You SOOOOOO much Misty!!!

What do you make with your cool whip?  Sometimes I freeze mine and eat it like ice cream... no cooking (aka: fire department visits) and OH so deeeeelicious!!!

Fabulous Faces!

Hi!  I'm taking you back to Warrenton... again. Hope you don't mind another road trip! LOL  I promise, we will have fun!  Junk - more junk - even more junk... and great friends!  Speakin' of which...

Mindy's tent was RIGHT NEXT TO the Trash Talkin' Diva herself!!!  Yep - I'm talkin' Debbie and her very own Cat Daddy!  Two of my cheerleaders - and FUN ones they are!!!  Debbie - THANK YOU for being you and doin' what you do...

and Cat Daddy?  He says he's gonna have me so bizzzzzzy makin' purses I won't have time for nuttin' else!!! Can you say, "come for the junk - stay for the party?" You would not BELIEVE the coolest of cool celebrities I got to meet 'round Debbie's table (which we mentally decorated a few times - planned a tea party, mother's day luncheon... you know... really cool table!!!)

First Up? My long lost sister...
I'm not sure how "the Mama" kept Anne a secret for so many years - but I now know... and there WILL be some havoc wreaked in every town between Waco and Kerrville for the rest of time. heeeee HA!!!  Not only ONE long lost sister... but...

TWO!!!  Or... would it be THREE since Angelique has the lovely twin, Misty?  Hmmmm... (wait 'til you see what I got!!!  whoo hoo!!! Watch for it... you won't want to miss my fun!) This was my second time to see Angelique... we need to get together more often 'cause oh-my-gosh... the junk we have to delve into!

And then... THEN... I got to meet...
I like this girl!  I mean - she picked the best spot in the world to come wreak some havoc - and I'm glad she did!!!  I can't tell you how many side-splittin' giggles came out of me while giving Jodie some grief - and hearing her tales and just getting to know her!  I thought fer sure we would both be strung up by DebbieOr duct taped up... whichever.

If I missed you at the Blog Party hosted by the lovely Theresa, then... we will have to do it again and I will be sure and PERSONALLY issue your invitation - duct tape and all!!!  You HAVE to go next time!  Not only to drool over Theresa's gorgeous tent but to meet who I met!!!

Adrienne of the Flying Bee! What an absolute HONOR!  You know how you drool on your monitor while looking at a blog?  I do that while visiting her.  LOL And - how cute-as-a-button is she?

And there's Adrienne again, with the Red Shed Girls!  I don't know if this is before or after she informed them she wants to travel to France with them...hmmm... Adrienne?

And then!  I met...
Janet!  Uh huh... she said we needed to meet - and we did - and I'm GLAD!!!  She is so fun... what took me so long to meet her?  I dunno!!!

It was so FUN!!!  New friends - old friends - blog friends... invisible friends...
oh wait, i chose to leave them at home.  huh.

I'm going to send you over to David's again because he has a NICE group of photos (which I stole some of... he's good, right?) that he is trying to get names with faces... can you help him?

Wait WAIT!  Before you go!  Thank You for taking ANOTHER Warrenton trip with me!!!  This isn't all - but I'll save some more for another day - stay tuned!

Comin' to you LIVE from a single-wide (where I still haven't totally unpacked, but my big fat cat is happy to see me - and I got a hug from the resident teen!)...hee-hee

red.neck Easter!

Three Rednecks just died,
and arrive at the Pearly Gates of Heaven.
St. Peter tells them that they can enter the gates
if they can answer one simple question.

St Peter asks the first Redneck,
"WHAT IS EASTER?"

The Redneck replies, "Oh, that's easy,
it's the holiday in November when
everybody gets together,
eats turkey, and is thankful..."

"WRONG," replies St. Peter,
and proceeds to ask the second Redneck
the same question,
"WHAT IS EASTER?"

The second Redneck replies,
"Easter is the holiday in December
when we put up a nice tree, exchange presents,
and celebrate the birth of Jesus."

St. Peter looks at the second Redneck,
shakes his head in disgust,
looks at the third Redneck and asks,
"WHAT IS EASTER?"

The third Redneck smiles and looks St. Peter in the eye.

"I know what Easter is.
Easter is the Christian holiday that coincides with
the Jewish celebration of Passover.
Jesus and his disciples were eating
at the last supper
and Jesus was later deceived
and turned over to the Romans
by one of his disciples.
The Romans took him
to be crucified and he was
stabbed in the side, made to wear a crown of thorns,
and was hung on a cross with nails through his hands.
He was buried in a nearby cave
which was sealed off by a large boulder."
St. Peter smiles broadly with delight.

The third Redneck continues,
"Every year the boulder is moved aside
so that Jesus can come out... and, if he sees his shadow,
there will be six more weeks of winter."

May the spirit of hope that Easter brings,
Help you find contentment in little things,
And restore your faith in the Lord above,
Who gave His life for the ones He loves.

Wishing You and Your Family A Very Happy Easter!!!

Primitiques

Okay!  Story Number One of...

well.... too many to count.  ha HA!

As you know - I was there to help The Mindy!  It was SO fun!!!  She has a 20' x 20' tent FULL of the coolest stuff!!!  Something would sell - no matter how big or how small - and we would both get crazy excited 'cause that meant we got to re-set!  I swear... decorating and re-decorating every few minutes was a BLAST! With every move I made and with every little thing my eyes rested on my mind would start racing - I could make this, or this would look cool as that, or, or, or!

These photos aren't even showing what was sitting OUTSIDE of the tent!  Future headboards - wine racks - tables and chairs... oh my!  Luckily for all - I have several more days of posts and pictures for you!  heeheehee

AND!  Let me introduce you to someone that made their debut in Warrenton...

Uh huh!  Not only does The Mindy have a whole LINE of bags inspired by her - but she has an original pattern (as are all red.neck Chic handbag patterns) designed by Moi and "carrying" her name!  Cool, huh?  This one is REALLY cool because it was FIRST a table runner - THEN a jacket... now a handbag!  AND!  The jacket was handmade in Mabank, Texas (that's what the tag said!) and THAT is where one of my favorite bloggers, Lezlee, lives!

All of this is nothin' yet - I promise!!!  Wait 'til you see who I got to hang out NEXT to all day every day and who came to visit from Louisiana - and who was at the blog party - and who is most likely my long lost sister 20 times removed and livin' down south - and who I got to hang out with for the second time and could be my other long lost sister 20 times removed and livin' east of me - and who I got to talk to on the phone - and who is carrying the first ever "primitiques meets red.neck" bag and is as cute as a button - and who's lil' white house I loitered and lingered in...

But for now I will leave you with this tip:
This is David.  He's been bizzzzzzzzzzzzy over on his blog - if you don't want to wait for more pictures from me (I'm heading back in the morning to help some more!) then go visit him!

Soooooo..... do you dye your Easter eggs or do you paint them?  I'm just wonderin'.... sometimes I duct tape mine...
