towering piles of...

(I found this picture on a past post... I WISH WISH my laboratory still looked like this!!!! Instead? 3 years later - utter, complete, and total annihilation... I wonder who broke in and set off the hand grenade(sssss)?)

towering piles of future pocketbooks.

After the Junk Hippy Show in November I have been SERIOUSLY lacking pocketbook inspiration... or ANY inspiration!!! I have just stood in my sewing room (or sometimes not even stepping through the door!) totally lost with NOTHING jumping out and screaming, "make me! NOW!".

My sewing machine was on mute... wouldn't listen to me OR talk to me... my bobbins were gathering dust... my fabrics were growing their own spider webs...

truly tragic.

Then? I was re-painting my bathroom and the paint fumes must have stirred something 'cause I now have entered in to some weird pocketbook making mode. I'm putting bags together in my head WAY faster than I can make them happen with my fingertips! I have a toppling tower of, "to make next".

Pocketbooks - 24/7. I'm almost skeert to sleep for fear the mad desire to make great things goes MIA again!!!

This one is MINE now! LOL I liked it sew much I dumped all of my fun things I think I have to have on a daily basis right in to it!

I have my next "swa.ray" Friday night... I'm thinking there are going to be a lot of "never seen before" pocketbooks arriving for the par-tay...

Are you feeling inspired to make great things or is your creative space growing dust-bunnies?

now I'm off to repo some pearl-snaps...

comin' to you LIVE from a single-wide where I should proll'y move my piles and vacuum my dust bunnies so they don't feel compelled to grow some more... but that requires stepping away from my sewing machine and promptly tripping over my piles then landing nose first in more piles... pffffttt...

Would you like to host your own "Soiree"? Contact Jenn at Give Me Props... she'll hook you up and then I can come park my single-wide in your back yard! Yee HAW! xo

i'm hungry.

if you know me well AT ALL, you know "i'm hungry." are two of my favorite words in the vocabulary.

if i didn't know better i'd think i had a sugar-craving tape worm. but... i know better 'cause the scale tends to slap me in to reality...

stupid scale.

anyway - my favorite food group is: peanut butter.

yes - i said, "food group".

i like bananas too... and butter...

Grilled Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich:

Ingredients

2-3   Ripe bananas
8   Slices white bread
3/4 cup crunchy peanut butter
3 tablespoon honey
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
Topping:
1/4 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon

Directions

In frying pan melt 3 tablespoons of butter - make sure butter does not burn.  In a small bowl mix together peanut butter, honey and cinnamon. Slice bananas into 1/4 thick slices. Spread the peanut butter mixture on four slices of bread and cover with banana slices.  Top with remaining 4 slices of bread.  Spread butter on both sides of sandwiches.  Grill sandwiches in frying pan until each side is golden brown.
For topping, combine sugar cinnamon in shallow plate.  Coat grilled sandwiches with mixture.  Cut diagonally and serve hot.

it's on now...

i'm hungry.

comin' to you LIVE from a single-wide where i figure i'll call the fire guys and give them a head's up 'cause this is what i'm makin' for dinner!!!

bowled over.

I had blogged (here) before about how I ADORE and WANT an Arco lamp!!! However... the ol' pocketbook screams and runs when looking at the price tag on a real (aka: vintage) Arco, and though I think the sky is the limit when it comes to decorating my house...

my ceiling height tends to put a lid on my imagination.

Enter Target and their lamp department:

The frame of it is close enough for me - the height is just right - the PRICE TAG was fantastic!!!

But - the shade and base weren't right...

so I found a stainless steel bowl and a wooden rectangular box.

*big grin*

I am gonna fill the box with concrete when I get a couple of nice "concrete pourin'" days in a row (right now it's weighted with bricks), and then I will decide if I'm going to break the box away and have a concrete base - or just leave it!

comin' to you LIVE from a single-wide where sometimes my determination (and total dis-respect for cooking equipment) to have something I like just makes me laugh... but happy!!!

What do you use YOUR mixing bowls for?

WORD!

First – Happy Happy New Year!!! I went to sleep on the 31st and time travels must of happened ‘cause I woke up and it was a NEW YEAR!!! Merry 2013!

In my HEAD I had this long in-depth blog post about my "WORD" for 2013. For DAYS I have been sure that I had my PERFECT "word".

JOURNEY.

My “word” was initially Journey. About how life is a journey... blah, blah, blah.

We all already know that, right? The ups and downs and all-arounds... how we think we’re going to be one place only to find we’ve been mis-placed but it’s ‘cause we’re in the place where we’re supposed to be...

Cassandra Wilson summed it up for me: “I know you’re supposed to set goals for yourself – and I do. But, I’m all into the journey. It’s fascinating to me. So if I make certain what I want moment to moment, I’m cool at the crossroads.”

I trust in my journey – as crazy as my journey may be – that everything happens for a reason... the lows are low because they are... the highs are high because they are... the “hmmm ho” days are just “hmmm ho” because they are... so journey is not really a good "word" for me because I operate on blind faith and trust in my journey and... my trust in my journey isn’t going to change in 2013.

THEN I thought: “fascination”. Now THAT is a good word for me! I am always so fascinated by big things – little thingsall things in between things...

One time I had a bumper sticker that said “easily fascinated – watch for brake lights” and that is SOOOOO true! A road trip always takes me longer because something (or many things) I see along the way fascinate me and I stop to check them out. Then I figure out that I got lost and my GPS is completely baffled.

People fascinate me. Objects fascinate me. EVERYTHING fascinates me. I’m easily entertained.

And I was fascinated when I did a search for a quote about journey and found one with fascinating in it! I thought about how my fascination with ALL THINGS isn’t going to improve this year over last year because my fascination with being fascinated is just who I am... so I guess that’s not a good word for me.

Which led me back to my mind’s question, “Robelyn, what is your word for 2013?”

Know what answer I have?

Word.

Yep – my "word" is word. I am going to make it a point in 2013 to say more words.

Written words, entertaining words, encouraging words, silly words, bigger words, happy words, informative words... I STINK at communicating (example: my SERIOUS lapse in blogging and Kristi – I promise – I WILL call you!), so I’m gonna work on my words. If the thoughts in my head need to be somewhere other than in my head – I will give my thoughts words and voice.

“All our words are but crumbs that fall down from the feast of the mind.” - Khalil Gibran

Of course – they will not be harmful words because that’s not the way I roll... “Death and Life are in the power of the tongueProverbs 18:21 (one of my favorite scriptures!!!) but, important words.

*** note: i did not say my words would be spelled correctly or even kinda close to grammatically correct. ***

Because my "word" for 2013 is WORD – doesn’t that mean that I can have a whole plethora of words as my word?

My options are endless!!! Scrabble in my brain - 24/7!

What’s YOUR word?

comin’ to you LIVE from a single-wide where I found the journey to find my "word" very fascinating (slightly exhausting)... and I'm even MORE fascinated that somehow or another I looped around and ended my journey back at word as my word. *big grin*
