cankles?

I saw these boots at free people on Friday and posed the question: "would you wear these?" on facebook. When I first saw them I thought: "euuuwwww I would NOT wear those!" but then I looked... and looked again.

I would. I would wear them and love them.

'Cept... I don't have $438.00 to spend on "vintage" boots with "vintage" belts.

What I DO have is:

dear future recipient of a red.neck Chic pocketbook... i'm sorry you won't be getting these belts as pocketbook handles. a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do when it comes to cute footwear.
Mindy and Mr. Flannery brought up the whole "cankle" issue... (cankles ARE a girl's worst nightmare after all...)

I don't think I have cankles... if YOU think I have cankles don't tell me. I'm in denial... denial works for me.

Gonna make you some? I think you should - they are GROOVY (I'm gonna bring "groovy" back) in person and fun to wear!

comin' to you LIVE from a single-wide where these ALMOST make me want to put away my winter flip flops... hee-hee

they turned out fantastic!!! I'm thinking you need to find a way to add a little Duct Tape though, maybe in a design to cover that inside printing !!!

  2. LMBO!!! I thought about that!!! But - I like the printing! How about... some duct tape layered over some lace - then make a belt out of that combo?

  4. Those are GREAT!!! I'm guessing that is why so many belts were used on the others... to hide the 'size' and 'lot numbers'...

  5. Cankles are the least of my worries. My ankles are so small, I wonder how they support the load I'm toting around! I wouldn't woof ya...I ain't spying no cankles on you either.
For those who are ankle challenged...they already know boots and long britches are their best friends.

P.S. Now how about something for us widgets*?

  20. Wowee! These boots are made for walking and that's just what they'll do. One of these days these boots are gonna walk away from you!

I like your design better than the "originals". However, those boots you cut up don't look too vintage! I cringed a bit when I saw the scissors!

Okay, I DO have cankles! Wanta make sumpin' of it?

  36. As a straight man, the best I can offer you is this: those look good on you, and you don't have cankles. Anything beyond that, and I'll have to direct you to my gay brother-in-law, who could give you the 'play-by-play' on your shoes.
