time...

To live is so startling it leaves little time for anything else. ~ Emily Dickinson

exceptin'... I gotta find those wee tee tiny hours of the morning to get BIZZZZZY!!! The count-down is ON!!! First up?

and I'm gonna be there!!! "the Mindy" has invited my duct tape roll in on her CRAZY EXCITEMENT and I get to wander in with some pocketbooks, hats and a few other goodies that you'll just have to go see!!! My toe-tappin' on her behalf is driving even myself crazy - this is going to be so much FUN grinning and mason jar'n with her as she starts a new chapter with her business!!! yeeeeeeeeeeeee HA!

THEN! Shortly after THAT:

My duct tape will be rolled out in all it's glory at Zapp Hall (aka: a red.neck's paradise...)!  I'm in cahoots (once again!) with "the Mindy" of "The Primitique" and we're going to be wreaking some SERIOUS havoc together in Warrenton! (yep - that was your warning... hee-hee)... what color antler chandelier do you think I should surprise her with?  hmmmmm......

I'm thinking this pile needs to grow... and grow some more... and grow some MORE!!!  Sew - I'm gonna leave you for a few days (no worries - I'll be keepin' my eye on you and you and YOU through my duct tape roll) but you understand, right? Pocketbooks to make... hats to be stylin'... all KINDS of cool and fun creations rattlin' 'round in my brain!!!  I'll keep you posted on my progress - 'til then - try your best to stay out of trouble and have some HAPPY JUNKIN' ADVENTURES!!!

But what minutes! Count them by sensation, and not by calendars, and each moment is a day. ~Benjamin Disraeli

Comin' to you LIVE from a single-wide (where I'm buried up to my freckled nose in fabric and fun stuff!)... hee-hee

Tuesday, August 10

just crate.

I hope you are having a HAPPY Tuesday!!!
You know how I am about gardening and growing things...

it's not pretty.... but THESE - they just HAPPEN!!!  How cool is that? Peachy goodness - just for me!

I pull these deeeeeelicious peaches off the tree and bite right into them (after scrubbin' 'em on my shirt...I AM a red.neck...) - but now that I've found this:

An easy peach yogurt parfait with peaches and vanilla yogurt, along with honey and cinnamon and graham crackers.

Ingredients:
1 cup vanilla yogurt
2 small peaches, pitted, peeled, and diced
2 teaspoons honey
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
8 graham crackers, crushed
Preparation: In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, peaches, honey, and cinnamon. Cover and refrigerate to chill thoroughly. To serve, prepare 4 parfait glasses. Into each parfait glass alternate layers of yogurt mixture with graham cracker crumbs, beginning with yogurt and ending with crumbs.

I might be re-thinkin' my peach eatin' strategy... and I figure since it doesn't require flamage I can do this!  I'll just fill up my AWESOME crate that I found in a junk store - drag 'em across the pasture and eat 'em ALL!

As a matter of fact... I think the crate is so CRATE that I can't seem to bring myself to take it in to the Taj Mahal where it's supposed to be headin'!  I keep finding things to put in it...

 Bright Idea!  hee-hee

Forget the diamonds - just hand me some vintage rhinestones and I'm yours...

And then I find things to set the crate on...

So - you wanna come sit on the tailgate (yep - it's on cinder blocks...) with me and eat some peaches?  c'mon - it'll be fun 'cause you're so crate and such a peach...

*snicker*

listening

When someone deeply listens to you
it is like holding out a dented cup
you've had since childhood
and watching it fill up with
cold, fresh water.

When it balances on top of the brim,
you are understood.
When it overflows and touches your skin,
you are loved.

When someone deeply listens to you,
the room where you stay
starts a new life
and the place where you wrote
your first poem
begins to glow in your mind's eye.
It is as if gold has been discovered!

When someone deeply listens to you,
your bare feet are on the earth
and a beloved land that seemed distant
is now at home within you.
John Fox in Finding What You Didn't Lose

This morning I just wanted to Thank YOU my dearest friends for listening to me ramble on and on and on... now - let's go wreak some havoc together!!!  Dangle our toes in some water, enjoy the sunshine, perhaps spread around some duct tape love - listen to each other... what time should I be expecting you?

Friday, August 6

is it fall yet?

Okay, so... yesterday I was on the hunt for some ice cream.  Still am.

Now - since dunking myself in the freezer a few thousand times (hasn't worked to beat the heat) - I'm day dreamin' the hottest hours of the day away!

What am I dreaming of?  Fall - Autumn - temperatures below 90 would work for me - boots and skirts and sweaters...

How many more days 'til Fall? 'Cause I'm nuts over these boots... and really - SERIOUSLY - the knee high ruffley ones NEED TO BE WEARING ME NOW!!!

I'm off to step into some trouble this week-end (it's a given, ya know?) - what are you doing to stay cool? Have a deeeeeeeeeeeeliciously cool week-end!!!

Q. How do astronauts eat their ice cream?

Q: How do you make a dinosaur float?
... in a glass of root beer and add one dinosaur!

Q: What do you get from an Alaskan cow ?

Wednesday, August 4

pink lemonade!

Sing a song of pink lemonade.

We'll pour it in a cup.

We'll stir it with a straw

And then we'll sip it up!

It will be so refreshing

We'll have to have some more,

And we'll be drinking pink lemonade forever, ever more!

"the Mama" - the three "EEE's", the resident teen and his sidekick all arrived on Saturday - and we had some FUN!!!  Flowers, glitter, polkey dots, crowns, hair clips - cheese, chicken and ritz (that's party food to an 8 year old LOL) - all topped off with grins, giggles and strawberry cupcakes("Big E" made those so they were deeeeeeelicious and did not contain fire extinguisher juice!)!

Now... I have to start gearing up for the "middle E" - we're thinking "hot chocolate party" - complete with marshmellars...
