Dearest Santa...revised

Hey Santa
Debbie brought it to my attention that I could potentially be comin' across as a spoilt rich gurl 'cause my list was long...so I'd like to revise just a tad 'cause we both know that ain't true... so please chunk the first one and let's roll off this one here.
I've tried to be good dis here year and it wasn't my fault that I got 15 speeding tickets cuz I thought those cops was tryin' to get me for divin' in that thaar dumpster over yonder and they wanted that stuff back (See? I couldn't possibly be rich 'cause that's a whole heck-of-a-lotta pennies bein' thrown towards the good peeps that like to arrest the red-headed girl.)

Anyways, It would be right nice of ya to bring me the following for Christmas:

My lawn chair stuck in the neighbor's pear tree, (Seriously, I done paid for that... I just need it back 'cause I ain't got nothin' to sit in while I'm watchin' the bug zapper.)
Two cords of firewood and butane for my torch, (Here's a thought...go green and just wack down the neighbor's pear tree for me - that'll work right fine.)
Three hydraulic jacks, Okay... how about 3 new cinder blocks? Those'll work right fine too.
Four cases of RC Cola, I'm not budgin' off this one, I've got plans.
Five new mud'n tires, Perhaps the spare's not necessary...
Six NASCAR t-shirts, I'm not opposed to Tony's old number (20) as long as it's Tony...so that should cost less.
Seven bumper stickers, They don't have to be sticky, I've got duct tape...used ones work right fine.
Eight moon pies You know you've got 'em - will you share?
Nine goats a ropin', Again, I've got duct tape so we can skip the rope part...
Ten cows a tippin' My neighbor's got cows... just supply the get-away sleigh and muscle for me please
Eleven rolls of duct tape You can't skimp on this one...a girl needs her arsenal...
Twelve shotguns a shootin' Hmmmm....How about.... 12 trips to Bass Pro Shop (I like to make funny faces at the fish in the aquarium...) that way ain't no ammo necessary and the cost of diesel for that sleigh of yours can't be THAT much.

And this here dress. It shoooor is purdy... I think it'd look right niiiiiiiiice with my camo boots...

I thank ya from the bottom of my sparklin', peep-toed shoes,
Yo fav.o.rite red.neck.

(I did NOT have my fingers crossed when I typed that.  How could you even THINK such a thing?!)

It's SNOWING!!!

IN CENTRAL TEXAS!!!

THIS NEVER HAPPENS!!! (Well, not often anyways...)

AND SOME OF IT IS EVEN STICKING!!!  Not much, but SOME!!!  And I love this here weed...growing up through pavement and asphalt - right in the middle of winter!  (Only in Texas, huh?)

I'm at work (thus the back alley photos JUST FOR YOU!!!) but I've been playin'...in the snow... And I'm headed back out!!!

Comin' to you LIVE from a SNOWY single-wide (well...the shop, but hey!)... hee-hee

My tops off.

Oh - DANG!!!  What I MEANT to say was...
MY TOPS ARE OFF!!!

My Tree Toppers!  Geesh... where's your mind at? *snicker*

Here be my dilemma...quite a conundrum. (I luuuuuv that word....conundrum. Makes a "tilt-your-head-to-the-side, fingertip-tappin'-on-your-chin" problem seem SEW much more impressive). Do you remember a couple of months ago when I kicked my china cabinet out of my dining area and 'round the corner to my kitchen?  Welllllllllllllll..............uhmmmmm............ there went my display area for my tree topper collection (some vintage, some new...some just TOTALLY rockin'!). AUGH!  My tree toppers are WAY too pretty to be in the kitchen (mainly 'cause I would never see them...I avoid that lil' chunk of real estate at all costs...) where the china cabinet now leases space!!!

So... my next viable option (another fave of mine... viable.) is on top of the TV armoire/cabinet thangy. Easy enough.  Well........... no. I can't seem to get them to look just right.  And I'm not even that hard to impress!!!  Show me sparkle - I swoon! Seriously... SWOON!!! I'm also not sure if I can take another day of walking into the festive Christmas partay'n single-wide just to be greeted by my toplessness. TREE TOPPER MESS.

I've searched for some ideas and this is what I've found...

But none of these GORGEOUS displays are QUITE right...
(This is where I'm hopin' it's not due to "lack of cinder block" or "MIA wheel base" or "there ain't one of those with duct tape holdin' it together...)

Do YOU have any ideas on how I should fix my top TREE TOPPERS 'cause I'm stumped ?!!?
I'm all ears and eyeballs...

Icicles 101

I failed that course.  I attended it for a few years, but then I just completely dropped out and didn't go back for my IED (icicle edumacation diploma).

In the beginning, with my first Oh-FFICIAL Christmas tree, oh my gosh - I made sure to have each light just so, each ornament placed JUST SO (I think they even all matched...huh) and... each icicle got seperated and placed

one
at
a
time,

one
per
branch.

Not kidding!!!  I know, I'm so not right... but that's just all part of my appeal.  hee-hee  And, oh, they were GOLD icicles 'cause that's just the way I rolled. All finishes had to match. Good grief, I'm so glad that with age comes wisdom...

Well... a few years ago I was given my Grandmother's tree!  As you all know, I'm incredibly sentimental, so of course I was over-the-tree-top HapPy!!! I STILL do the whole swirlin', swing my arms over my head, HapPy red.neck dance when I break it out of it's cardboard prison for the Christmas season!!!  And, it's a PLASTIC TREE!  Seriously!  LUVIN' IT!!!

I just go raid the local cedar trees and make off with their branches to get the smell... only a few times have I brought in wild-life with the tree branches.  The way I figure it, any and all wild-life that choose to attend the par-tay REALLY add to the whole "fooling of the senses" covert operation I've got goin' on. And, I should also say...the tree really isn't crooked like it may appear...I'm just slightly off-kilter. Yet another characteristic to add to my appeal.  LOLOL

Back to the icicles.
WITH my Grandmother's tree came silver icicles!  See, she never took them off because...well...why when she was going to put it up again the next year?  So - YIKES!  What's a girl to do?!!? I couldn't go removing my Grandmother's handi-work - no way!

Oh, I know - switch to silver!!! By the time I received her wondrously silver tree I had built up a pretty massive collection of vintage ornaments (YAY!) and from that point on, it's been a free-for-all when it comes to decorating my tree.

No more matching ornaments and sportin' some SHINY SPARKLIN' silver icicles (but I'm still pretty attentive to the "lights just so" part)!  Again, with age comes wisdom (and perhaps...a tee-tiny bit of impatience...) so now when I put the icicles on I make sure there are some on each branch... it's just how ever many of them I happen to have in my hand.  HA HA! I figure by the time I'm 50 I should have enough build up that I won't have to worry with 'em anymore - and if that's not the case then I'm going to buy that 12' package of tinsley garland.

So, do tell...when you add the icicles (or the tinsel) do you add them one at a time?  Do you stand back and place them carefully on each branch?  Do you just THROW them on? (That's what the resident teen did last year...I just covered the baby blues and tried not to visibly cringe.) AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST!  When you have them stuck in your hair do you pretend you just got extensions or a high-lite job?  I did...this morning...when I walked into the grocery store... with my sparkles hangin' out for the world to see....
